A web hosting control panel is pre-installed software provided by hosting providers for their clients to manage their hosting accounts and administer their websites. This web interface enables users to easily set up, modify, and monitor their sites.

Some web hosts have invested in their own control panels, while others offer off-the-shelf control panel solutions. There are many different control panels available on the market today, both commercial and free. Each type of control panel works with one platform (Linux/Unix or Windows), but some control panels have different versions for each platform.

Users can create and manage account packages and accounts, view all the accounts and bandwidth usage, modify and terminate accounts, and do other tasks that allow them to be web hosts themselves. They can also access each sub-account from the reseller control panel interface. Some users have reseller accounts for websites that are all theirs because of the ease of managing all their sites through one control panel.
